Easy to understand, like the way the book thoroughly explains everything. I’m practicing scales all the time, and improving slowly but steadily!!!!

I’m a 45 year old who has been learning to play the violin. I found Alison on YouTube, and I haven’t looked back. I own and am working brought Song Book 1 as well as the accompanying lessons, and to date Alison has taught me what I need to know and given me he materials with which to succeed. The lessons and books are curated very well, the songs are interesting and fun to learn/play, all with an understandable progression. I can’t thank you enough Alison! Thanks again!

I am a 66 year old practicing 4 months beginner. I took the leap to begin violin with the encouragement from Ms. Sparrow’s YouTube videos and I haven’t looked back. I was searching for an organized progressive plan that I could use and learn from home. The material in these lessons are not exactly super easy, but as she has stated in her videos her students will be very informed of everything. I find it to be rather like working a puzzle and it’s very addictive and enjoyable. I also appreciate that the music choices don’t sound like nursery tunes but more so something that I can be proud to play.

I'm really keen on the condensed but straightforward information in the theory book. And the songbook is incredibly helpful regarding bow technique improvement. I lose the direction sometimes but it's pretty interesting to work with. I appreciate your amazing job.

I had the idea of learning violin a while ago and stumbled across Allison’s many informational YouTube videos. With all that I was learning I bought a violin and decided to try my hand at it and was instantly hooked! I look forward to playing every day and with the help of these books and associated YouTube tutorials it takes the many challenges of learning violin and puts them in a step by step order with results that are easy and very gratifying to see. I’m absolutely thrilled with my progress and Allison is a wonderful teacher who has seemingly figured out a perfect balance of giving out enough information to get absolute beginners going but also to challenge her students to be able to learn more and set up bright futures for them. These well structured, self paced lessons are absolutely brilliant and I would recommend them to everyone that even has thoughts of learning. I will continue to use these lessons until I reach the end and then I will be purchasing her sheet music without a doubt. I am thrilled that I accidentally found out about this series and the online piano and violin tutor as it has taken me leaps and bounds and I don’t expect my progress to slow.

If you are following Alison on YouTube and are learning the violin, you need to get these books. Only together do the two make complete sense.

After following your Youtube series from 1-10 I was already able to play sheets I had never read before, able to read music - which was truly a great surprise to me - I was thrilled ! And hence, bought your followup book and am at the point of learning the scales so far - very happy with your presentation, methods and structure - Trust the process, be patient and work diligently and it all comes together as you move forward - Great work Alison, thank you !

Great teacher for violin, you can't get any better.

I've been self taught for 2 years and I think this is a great change of pace. Would recommend for all ages!
