*COMBO DEAL* | Learn To Play The Violin Book 2 AND Song Book 2 | (Download Only)

I am a classically trained guitarist. I always wanted to play violin. This book is really helpful. I'm learning a lot. Violin lessons are really costly. The amount of knowledge you get from the books is really unbelievable. Thanks Alison for providing the wonderful work

I'm an adult beginner. I played violin from ages 4-8 as a child, but do not remember sight reading or much else from my lessons. As an adult I've purchased a few books (Essential Elements and another similar "school band" book) that are cluttered and difficult to work through. Every time I want to advance my technique--and in some cases rather than advance technique--there is a new song I need to master that isn't much different than the last. Not only that, but the songs are such as "Hot Crossed Buns" and other that leave me unfulfilled. Alison introduces technique more quickly and in a straightforward and uncluttered way. The introduction of theory and scales first off is wonderful. I can practice bowing technique while learning theory, which my other books left out and it meant I spent as much as it cost to get Violin Book 2 and Songbook for theory books separately. Since my desire to play violin is rooted in my love for classical music, Alison's songbook has been a HUGE motivator for me to continue my studies. I adore the songs she has arranged to be accessible to the beginner. I am so grateful to Alison for this! I'm learning to play Tchaikovsky right out of the gate! The only problem (aside from some petty quibbles with proofreading and repetition) is that I would like to see sheet music for the scales and arpeggios included in the book. Just so that I can learn sight reading more quickly, maybe arranged with some different rhythms and bowing techniques that get progressively more difficult. Perhaps book three could include this as part of a recap of book 1. All in all it's a wonderful book system for learning violin and along with Alison's videos and her other sheet music and tutorials I've reignited my motivation and obsession with learning the violin.

Just received the violin book 2 and the violin song book 2 and glancing through it, I find that it is very detailed and informative and I am looking forward to working on it in the near future as I am still working on the first ten lessons.

Alison's teaching style is very clear and her books contain a lot of helpful exercises and tips. The songbook is a great addition, good variety of songs and I found it a good way to practice the skills from the lesson book. The combo is an excellent value for money!

I started to play the violin in year 7 up until upper sixth form. I reached grade 5 standard but unfortunately and due to the high level expectation at A-Level , it was suggested that I sing for the music practical examination at year 13. For Christmas I was given a student violin. I searched for online tutors and came across Alison's Youtube channel. I was quite rusty with music theory and actually playing the violin. I've watched most of her videos including the online lessons which lead me to purchase book 2 combo deal. I absolutely love the tuition videos- for an absolute ultimate beginner it's the best comprehensive introduction to play the violin and getting accustomed to the instrument! Book 2 has reintroduced me to theory, scales and arpeggios (although I could still remember the fingering number patterns for arps even after all these years!) Book 2 is slap bang at the level I am now- really really happy with my purchase and even in less than a month since I got my violin, with practice I'm getting back into the swing of it! The detailed information in the book is extremely easy to read and follow and the Youtube videos complement the learning outstandingly! My goal is to be able to (hopefully) master the songs in book 2 by early Summer. Practice makes perfect indeed! Thank you so much Alison! I might book an online lesson with you soon too!

This is a great book for music theory
