Simply Series for Violin Complete Collection
This is a fantastic collection. Not the same tunes you get elsewhere all the time. Keys vary. Fun. Varying rhythms. Not mickey mouse easy. Learn something with every tune.

Great pieces for beginners
I love this collection! It's full of music that is perfect for a beginner like myself to practice with. Now I have music that I can play with friends even with my beginner level skills! Thank you for composing them!

Simply Series for Violin
I found this series to be very helpful. There are a nice variety of songs to choose from and all are perfect for a beginner. Each song has a link to the video demonstrating how the song should sound and how it is played. I found that very helpful. I think the videos really make the difference when trying to learn a new song. I am glad I purchased this series.

Simply Series for Violin
Great songs that are easy to learn. I am bad at the violin but even I found it quite easy to play them. Thanks for it.

What I needed.
One of my goals is to learn to read music along with playing violin. With familiar songs, being a guitar player, I tend to get a few notes then move on by ear (not reading). The songs in the books are challenging but not so complicated that I get frustrated. Really just getting started but looking forward to working through them. Alison's material is excellent. I highly recommend it.

Amazing for the Beginner!!! Thank you!!!
Alison, her channel, and her arrangements are amazing! I am 30 years old and learning to play the violin - something I've always wanted to do. I can read music, but I had absolutely NO VIOLIN SKILLS before I tuned into Alison's channel. In a matter of weeks I am playing full songs, thanks to her. These beginner songs are fun and interesting. So much of the beginner music is dull and makes practicing a bore. If you are a beginner violinist, buy these books and watch the tutorials that go along with them You will not be disappointed!

Simply Series
I listened to several songs from each of these books on YouTube before I purchased them, and I liked the songs very much. I think if you're interested in at least 2 or 3 of the Simply Series books, you should just go ahead and buy the whole collection because it doesn't cost that much more. I especially like the Gypsy music and I'm looking forward to playing those songs. BONUS: most of the songs in the Simply Jigs & Reels book could be played on the tinwhistle too, if you or a friend plays the tinwhistle.

Not just a book- more like satellite lessons
I think my title says it all- most books are just that... books. I've been playing piano for over 20 years, and not once did I ever have one of my teachers sit down and play the piece herself, and then walk me through how the piece is laid out (granted- I don't think I've had a teacher who has written their own books until now). Having a teacher who can give you a "place to start" is a must for almost all instruments, and the violin is no exception. Aside from the "drums", violin can take it's place as the hardest musical instrument to master, no hands-barred (pun intended ;) ). Alison does a great job simplifying the stages and breaking down each piece into sizeable chunks, including fingering and any other "gotcha's" that can be a part of learning a new musical piece. Alison has put so much into these series and videos and she deserves all my thanks and admiration. Thanks Alison!
