Learn to Play the Violin Complete Collection Books 1-3
Alison is one of the best Violin teachers you can find. She has written a set of books that can take you from absolute novice beginner to a good intermediate level. I just purchased the set, and I am at the beginner stage. I love how she shows all the notes on the fingerboard, with their appropriate positions, with indications on which finger to use in 1st-4th positions. I’m currently following her YouTube tutorials, and working on scales to solidify my knowledge of the notes on the fingerboard. I’m also working on correct bow hold and bow technique, and finger placement to minimize movement. I’ve only looked at the first book, but I love the exercises and how they progress from open strings to fingers in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions. She advocates taking your time to really understand each aspect of your violin playing, going very slowly at first, then gradually gaining speed as you progress. I look forward to moving forward to Books 2 and 3. There is really nothing like this violin course anywhere online, except in this course. At such a low price, you can actually teach yourself to play violin, following the guidance of Alison Sparrow, professional violinist. I highly recommend this set to anyone who aspires to learn violin, at any age!

Excellent “Jump Start”. Engaging Tutor!
This course is great! I’m playing the violin already after never holding one before. Ali is engaging and encouraging. Lessons are to the point on each topic, but not rushed. She infuses her students with the benefit of her years of personal experience to “jump start” your ability to play and grow in you skills. So glad I found these lessons.

Excellent for me a 62 year old beginning violinist.
I have wanted to play violin since I was five but was forbiddenand took up drums. Was a boyscott, and US Marine. Now that that is out of the way I thought I would take up the violin and Alison is excellent at instruction and her material keeps me pushing forward.

Awesome violin studies for beginning and intermediate level
These lessons are amazing. Together with the video (which provides the visual presentation of the lessons) and the material downloaded..it provides years of study that would typically cost between 60.00-150.00 per hour. Here, on the other hand, years of material is provided for what normally would cost per hour. Specific questions..as to bowing techniques and how to rosin..when and how to learn vibrato ..etc can be looked up under Alison’s YouTube videos. Subscribing to her videos on YouTube provides added information when needed. I’m very satisfied with the material.
