Nice follow up for course book one

It is advisable to go through the songbooks that are bases on book one. If you do you have a solid foundation to continue with this book that builds up your skills.

Learn to Play the Piano Book 2

Posted by Karen Dann on 16th Aug 2018

I purchased this book only a few days ago as piano playing friends of mine firmly told me that it is necessary to learn the scales and other technical skills, which form the core theme of this book. It also contains other exercises and pieces of music which use the skills being learned. I am 60 years old and have been teaching myself to play the piano since the start of 2018. I discovered Alison and her YouTube online piano tutorials and books, and have been most impressed. I have previously purchased Learn to Play the Piano Book 1 and Songbook 1. I practice most days and find both her 'youtube' lessons and the books great fun to use. I feel I am making real progress at my own unpressurized pace, and am thoroughly enjoying this experience. I would highly recommend Alison and her products to anyone who is thinking of learning to play the piano.

    I love it!

Great book, easy to follow, with a nice selection of exercises and easy arrangements of classical pieces. A great starter for someone who wants to learn to play the piano on their own. Also the video tutorials are well made and nicely presented. I love the idea of bar codes too! Good job Alison!

    Great helpful lessons

I am self taught and I am able to play ABRSM grade 4 pieces, but I neglected scales and arpeggio thinking I didn't need them . I decided to go back and learn them using the online piano tutor books . Since using the book daily and following the lessons my playing as improved greatly. With video back up I think this a close as you can get to personal piano lessons . I recommend these books to anyone wanting to learn piano .

    Very well thought-out lessons

As an adult beginner I am finding this course excellent, taking me through in small enough steps to stop me getting discouraged. I have already recommended this course to several friends who gave up piano years ago and now want to try again. I even look forward to doing scales as it seems to help progress and the progressive exercises are great.

    Phenomenal

Posted by Julie-Ann Gilman on 28th Dec 2017

I started piano at age 12 and stopped at 16/17 for various reasons. I've always felt guilty for stopping and regretted it. I've always wanted to start again but the lessons available elsewhere were way too kiddy for my tastes. Then along came Alison; I found her videos quite by accident (I was looking for music for my violin, which I also need to restart) and I'm so glad I did. The practice exercises on here are beautiful, so far I'm at Exercise 1 of Lesson 20 and it's my favourite song right now. Thank you, thank you, thank you Alison. Nuff love!!!

So Helpful & Easy to Understand

Posted by Unknown on 15th Jan 2017

I went through Alison's "Piano Book I" and then went to this one. She explains everything so well and the demonstrations online are great! I am a complete novice and I have learned so much!!
