Great pace and so much information on each new part so I never feel lost. I would recommend these books to anyone who wants to learn violin. Though I would definitely print it out if you have that ability as I've found writing on the music and exercises useful.

Absolutely brilliant and helpful book so well explained and easy to understand, Allison has a real gift in getting her message across by a book, while it is my own progress and ability holding me back at the moment I am looking forward to progressing onto her next book in the hopefully not to distant future. Together with the excellent videos in which Alison clearly explains every step, this is a fine way to learn the violin. I played the violin many years ago, and having decided to re-learn it. I have never played an instrument, nor knew how to read music before I picked up the violin a few months ago. This book coupled with the youtube videos not only helps to learn the instrument, but also how musical notation works. It would be a deal at twice the price.

Having been a follower of the online vids for some time now, I only just purchased the books 2 and 3. These are an adjunct to the vids, and are of exceptional quality. I really appreciate the time and effort put in to their production. I wouldn`t hesitate to recommend them highly to any aspiring violinist.

I find that her violin lessons are presented in a way that anyone can easily follow. Her instructions are clear and simple to understand. She explains musical notations such as notes value, scales and how to practice them, all of it introduced gradually as needed throughout her method. Also, I like the fact that she has several videos to supplement her lessons. You can hope for positive results with her approach. H.Gelinas
