Learn To Play The Violin Books 1 - 3 | COMPLETE COLLECTION (Download Only)

It has been a lifelong dream of mine, (well, at least since about the age of 10). to learn the violin. Growing up in a small country town in Australia, in addition to the fact my parents couldn't afford to rent a violin or pay for lessons, it just didn't happen. I'm also very left-handed and even if I had had lessons, I may well have given up anyway! Fast forward 20 odd years and now I'm both working from home and part-time, last year I finally decided to buy myself a left-handed violin for my birthday and look for something online where I could teach myself at my own pace. Through my search I quickly stumbled upon Alison's YouTube channel and her absolute plethora of videos on how to play the violin, including her series: "Learn to Play the Violin" Lessons 1-30 videos that accompanied this collection of books and song books. I thought this to be incredible value as a one-off price and exactly what I was looking for! Her books are done in such a way that they are very easy to follow and I'm absolutely loving working my way through these. I'm now working on 'March by Bach' in Song Book 1 and am amazed I am reading the music pretty easily! I did try the keyboard at high school for a few years but was never able to read the music. Alison, thank you so much for teaching me how to read the notes! I also thank you for providing this fabulous self-teaching course and I can see the progress I've made in just a few months with regular practise several days a week! Your lessons are extremely well thought out (which I very much appreciate as a teacher myself!) and I love how even the exercises in 1 to 10 were getting us playing something so early! My favourite songs to play so far are definitely Gypsy Firelight and Country Gardens! I cannot wait to learn 'Blue Danube' and 'Leaving for the Last Time' in the next few months. Hello Alison. My apologies for taking so long to respond to your request. A little background information just to give my remarks context. I am 73 years old, a retired British citizen living in Spain. My professional background was in Project Management and this is how I have assessed your course. Apart from a couple of years of reluctant piano lessons (60 years ago) I have no musical qualification to help me in judging the musical content. Having looked over the course it seems to be very well presented. The layout of the pages is excellent and so far as the musical content is concerned I (as a student) feel that it will prove easy to follow. Your treatment of the subject matter is very well thought through and, if you will pardon me for saying, it is a credit to you as a professional musician. I have now received my violin and am looking forward to upsetting my neighbours with the develish noises that I will shortly be producing. I hope that this is helpful to you. My best wishes, John

SO far so good! I'm up to the Open String Exercises and have been diligently practicing each day. Love that I was able to find an online person to teach me how to play!

After looking through all of the books and a few of the videos, I find it to be a very well thought out and designed course, and you learn it all at your own pace. EXELLENT.
